Unleashed Media is a fictious company created by HopeWorks. This is one of the main projects I’ve worked on during my time at this company as an intern, and the purpose was to test my ability and see if I was capable of re-designing a website successfully from the skills that I acquired. I look at this project as not only a professional assignment, but also a personal project since there were no guidelines involved in creating the website. I had full creative freedom over the development and design aspect when approaching this re-design attempt.

Design Process
My design approach was simple for this project. I decided to go with another content management system for it and used Wix instead of WordPress. My reason for this is because Wix could fully provide me with many customization options, as opposed to being limited with WordPress or CodePen. Wix allowed me to format the pages the best way I saw fit and was able to provide my site with a more “modern” feel and format for users to interact with. The previous layout had a very old style to it and was even hard for users to grasp a good understanding of what the company provided due to the color scheme and design patterns that was combined with the text selection.

Results and Takeaways
After designing this website, not only did it give me the confidence to utilize another content management system but it also gave me another skill to use within web design. The overall project was a task that I found myself to be comfortable with only because designing is more of my interest with me having a background in art. It was easy to tell what would be more visually appealing, what colors would work best, the smoothness and transition animation in between pages, etc. All of those things matter when updating a website’s functionality and design , especially when going for “modern day” expectations.
